Terms and conditions for the Student Roost Travel Survey.
- Promoter - The Promoter of the prize draw detailed in these terms and conditions is City of York Council, West Offices, Station Rise, York YO1 6GA (the Promoter).
- Eligibility - The prize draw is open to staff or residents of The Student Roost, who have completed the residents travel survey, but only 1 entry is allowed per person.
- Free to enter - The prize draw is free to enter to those who meet the eligibility criteria - no purchase is necessary.
- Method of entry - All entries must be submitted together with a completed Student Roost residents travel survey and only 1 entry per person is permitted.
- Starting and closing date - The opening date for entries is 9.00am on Friday 17 January 2025. The closing date of the prize draw is 5.00pm on Monday 17 February 2025. Entries received after this time will not be considered.
- Prize draw - The winner will be chosen by a random draw on Tuesday 18 February 2025 (Draw Date).
- Prize - The winner will receive a £100 York Gift Card.
- Notification of winners - The winner will be notified by email (using details provided at entry) before Friday 21 March 2025 and will be required to provide an email address to claim their prize. If a winner does not respond to the Promoter within 30 days of being notified by the Promoter, then the winner’s prize will be forfeited and the Promoter will be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above.
- Prize delivery - The prizes will be sent to the winner by post or by hand delivery within 14 days of them being notified of their win.
- Prize non-exchangeable - Prizes are non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.
- Decision of Promoter - The decision of the Promoter regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.
- Details of winner - The Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the Promoter will send the surname of the winner to anyone who emails itravel@york.gov.uk or writes to iTravel York, City of York Council, Highways and Transport/Directorate of Place, Eco Depot, Hazel Court, York YO10 3DS (enclosing a self-addressed envelope) within 1 month after the closing date stated in paragraph 5 above. By entering the prize draw you agree to us sharing your details as described as above, unless you have expressly tell us not to do so by email: itravel@york.gov.uk. In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request. Please also see paragraph 16 below which contains further details about how your personal data will be processed.
- Acceptance of prize draw terms and conditions - Participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon entry. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse entry or refuse to award a prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.
- Suspension or cancellation of prize draw - The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend the promotion where it becomes necessary to do so.
- Liability of the Promoter - Insofar as is permitted by law the Promoter will not under any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate any winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up a prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
- Personal data - Personal data supplied by you during the course of this prize draw will only be processed by the Promoter:
- to assess your entry into the prize draw
- to check that you meet these terms and conditions
- to administer the prize draw and to contact you if you are a winner
- to comply with its statutory obligation to publish or make available information that a valid award has taken place (as detailed at paragraph 12 above)
- as set out in the Promoter’s privacy policy and in accordance with all relevant data protection legislation
- Severability - If any provision or part-provision of these terms and conditions is or becomes invalid, illegal or unenforceable, it shall be deemed deleted, but that shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the rest of the terms and conditions.
- Governing law and jurisdiction - The prize draw will be governed by English law and entrants to the prize draw submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
